Building muscle and losing fat with the Anabolic Diet

Let me know what you want to read!

May 1st, 2009 · 11 Comments

Hey everyone — I haven’t been updating this site too much lately because, simply put, I’ve already put up a lot of the information I think I’d need if I were on the Anabolic Diet.  I recently put up a recent photo of me, which reflects my current progress while eating this style of diet, so I’m definitely still in the lifestyle.

With that said, though, I know that there’s a lot more I could be writing about — and I want to write it.

What are your questions, thoughts, concerns?  Leave them for me in the comments here, and I’ll get to writing some updates here.  I want to make sure it reflects what all of you want to know.

EDIT: I’ll start writing new articles in a little less than a week.  I want to leave this post up so I get as many comments and suggestions as possible.  Any requests for information at all, just leave them in the comments.  Thanks again!

Regarding sea-salt intake, what are your thoughts? I just re-read Scott Abels recommendations and I should be consuming around 6-8 grams/day of sea salt, with 4 liters of water. Water is no problem and im now throwing seasalt on everything but what are your thoughts with it on the AD

Glad to see you back and doing well. I have about a month and a half on the AD and I am loving it. Great stuff!

Alternate Cutting Diet Plan. The BCAAs are good and I get mine pretty cheap from 1fast400, search for the on amazon.com or google it, but the ‘Fertile Eggs’ are hard of me to get. Need an alternative to them. Basically at simple cutting diet and calorie goal should get myself and other going in the right direction.

Hope to hear more from you. Stay fit my friend.

I’d like to see more “flexible” stuff like what types of foods you like to carb-up with and how long those go for you. Or maybe an article about a favorite dish, or experience at work (for example) where the diet came into play, etc.

Nice website. I find it to be real informative. How long were you on the diet before you noticed any results? I’ve read it takes at least 4 weeks before the body changes to burning fat as a energy source. Thanks in advance.

I recently heard about this diet from a woman who came into my store, she and her husband swear by this diet, I am a little reluctant to try this because I have tried most diets and they have had little effect, I currently weigh about 350lbs and I need to know if this diet will really burn fat quickly and get me back into shape?

Hey I got a question, but first thanks for a great and informative blog.

I am a 17 (born 1991) years old boy, and i’ve been doing workouts at the gym the past 2 or 3 year now, where i’ve had some great progress with. And now i’m planning to start with this diet, but i’m not really sure if it is safe for me since i’m still a teenager..

Awesome site mate. Been a reader for a good while now and can’t wait for some new articles. I think it would be cool to read about your actual training experiences while on the diet so we can see which plans have worked best etc. Like a workout log but right here on the site in play view.

Also, what are your opinions on having carbs in a PWO shake. I know quite a few people who are on keto diets that still have 50g of dextrose in their shake straight after working out. Is this necessary in your opinion? Personally I’ve never really noticed any difference in having carbs PWO but would be interesting to hear your thoughts. Hope you post some new stuff soon.

    Cheers

    Hi,

Great site – I’ve learned a lot. I just had a question about bulking on the AD. I know that you have a specific diet for bulking/cutting on AD; however, after reading many testimonials, it seems that many people have experienced BF loss while still gaining in LBM.

At 15% BF at 165 lbs., would you suggest that I bulk or cut on the diet? I’d really like to get to the 10% range; however, I figure if I can minimize fat gain while gaining LBM, I may as well begin bulking.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks again for your help!

    Nick
